How to Brand Yourself an Expert in Network Marketing

I want to start this off by asking you a few questions and I want you to seriously ponder them.

What is your objective as a network marketer?
Why did you get into network marketing in the first place?
Have things changed regarding what you want to do since you joined?

I ask those questions for good reason. From where I stand, I get a pretty good look at the profession at large. I'm on the road multiple weekends a month speaking all over the place for various network marketing companies, I spend my weeknights doing conference calls for different groups and spend my weekdays talking with the leading independent reps and company owners. That's my business.

What's yours?

If you are in network marketing as an Independent Distributor for a company, your business should be one thing: building that distributorship.

Here's what I see happening today. People get into network marketing with the initial objective of building that network marketing company, then…in their search for the answers on "how to" do it, they become distracted and led on another path that oftentimes has them doing everything BUT building that company.

I'm not going to go into detail on what those things are because it's not important. Any distraction that takes you away from your real PURPOSE is a distraction.

What IS important, is sticking to your plan, your objective. There's nothing wrong with changing your mind and moving in another or different direction, but there IS something wrong with 'thinking' you're doing things that are keeping you on track, but really are not. Inexperienced people have a tendency to be easily led off track.

Remember...if you're objective is to BUILD your network marketing business, then do things that DIRECTLY lead to you doing that.

I was in a discussion recently over the subject of BRANDING. A rep at a seminar asked me what was the best way to brand himself as an expert.

My response was simple, "Let your results be your brand."

In other words, let your production do the talking. The easiest way to brand yourself as an expert is by simply producing. If you want to be known and recognized within an industry or profession, be the very best you can be in that place. You shouldn't have to tell people how good you are, they'll know it from the trail you blaze in the marketplace.

The best way to brand yourself as an expert at something is to be one, not to tell people you are one.

This goes back to your original objective: to build your network marketing business.

You'll make a name for yourself by being productive, so much so that you won't even be worried about having to make a name for yourself because your production has done it for you.
  • Focus on what matters most.
  • Do more of what makes you money.
  • Do less of what doesn't.
  • Use your time wisely.
  • Work harder... and smarter.
Imagine where you'll be when you focus all your time, effort, and energy on doing that ONE thing that makes you money.
