To be successful in your profession, you need to have a strong belief in your products or services, in the company you represent, in your profession and, most importantly, in yourself. Building your belief in yourself is a daily practice.

Before arising, take time to briefly acknowledge the beginning of a new day. Breathe deeply; focus on those gifts and talents you can contribute; set some intentions for the day.

In over 25 years of training and coaching in self-development, the most powerful tool I have found for growth is the use of effective questions. Your thoughts create your reality; your focus creates your thoughts; questions are a powerful tool to guide your focus in a forward, productive direction.

We all live in questions every day, whether conscious or not. The question is, what kind of questions are we living in? When something doesn't go your way, do you ask yourself, What did I do wrong? Why did that happen? Why did I do that?

...or do you ask, What can I learn from this? What is the gift in this? How can I do this differently next time to get more of what I want?

Here are a few morning questions that will help enhance your belief in who you are and what you have to offer the world this new day.

What am I grateful for in my life right now?

What is the one activity that will make the greatest improvement in my effectiveness? In my relationships? In my physical well-being? In my mental and emotional well-being?

As the day continues, monitor your focus. Are you focusing on what's wrong, on the problems of the world, on who is to blame and what you haven't accomplished? The key is to be aware enough to notice, then choose a set of different questions that direct your focus toward where you want to go, rather than where you don't.

Here are some questions that can help keep your positive beliefs on track during the day:

What have I accomplished that moves me towards my goals?

What is working about this challenging situation?

What can be done differently that will create the kind of outcome that I desire?

At the end of every day, reflect on what the day has brought you and what you have brought to the world. Here are some questions that will close the day with strong, positive belief:

What contributions have I made today?

What am I proud of today?

In what ways have I grown today?

What am I most looking forward to tomorrow?

Building belief in yourself can make a bigger difference in your business and the quality of your life than any other focus. Enjoy the journey!
