Network marketing is all and always about making the right connections.

Like being unplugged from a source of electricity, nothing happens in this business until the connection is made. And nothing will continue to happen - no sales of products or services, no new business partners, no walking the beaches of the world - unless that and those connections are maintained.

Network marketing is all and always about making the right connections. Like being unplugged from a source of electricity, nothing happens in this business until the connection is made.

It's not just connecting that matters; the quality of connection is also fundamentally important: only the right connection will work. Plug an electrical appliance that runs on 110/120 volts into a 220 socket. Nothing is the best you'll get with that wrong connection....Zap! Shorted. Blown out, up or fried is more likely.

What is prospecting but making connections? And what is successful prospecting but making the right connections?

Fifty years ago, if you were to put your run-of-the-mill minister in a padded cell with an off-the-shelf scientist and give 'em five minutes, only one would emerge alive. But do that today, and they'd walk out arm and arm together saying, "Brother!" Why? Because both the contemporary physicist and the present-day metaphysicist see the universe through the same sunglasses. They agree now: it's all energy.

You, me, the water in the glass - all energy. We are molecules in motion, composed of atoms and sub-atomic particles. Human beings, the "crown of creation," and trees and rocks and everything else are all made of the same stuff: energy. And as the law says: "energy" [like you and me] "cannot be created or destroyed, but only transformed." The water in the glass can be in the form of water, ice, vapor or steam.

All this energy, which is us, too, is always in motion. It's always vibrating.

Too "New Age" for ya? Pish posh. (Or, if you really want to monkey around, Peter Tosh.) Remember the scientist of today as compared to yesterday?

What connects people one to another is their and our energy - the vibrations. You know this is true. Ever said (or thought) upon meeting someone new, "Wow, we really connected?" Sure you have. Making that connection is Job One for every networker on this planet.

If at first you don't connect, no amount of "trying" will ever create a sale or sign up a new business partner. We are in the connecting business. That's what network marketing is all about. Making connections. And again, success in network marketing is about making the right connections.

What are the "right" connections?

If at first you don't connect, no amount of "trying" will ever create a sale or sign-up a new business partner. We are in the connecting business. That's what network marketing is all about.

We connect with other people in one of two ways, sometimes both:

1) We connect with people whose energy (vibration) is the same as ours. Or,

2) We connect with people who have the kind of energy (vibration) we want to have (or who want ours).

A tuning fork has one distinct, fixed pitch. Strike it in a tuning fork factory and all the other forks tuned to that same frequency will begin to vibrate right along with it, making the identical sound. Same with people. "I love the Rolling Stones." (Ping.) "Wow! So do I!" Ping: connection made....

Now take a human tuning fork who's a truly successful network marketer and some burning-desire prospect sitting down with her. That networker is so confident, happy, great family, making Bill Gates' money and having an absolute ball doing it all (ping) and that's what the prospect would give anything in the world to be, do, have (ping) - connection made.

These two illustrations reveal the two different ways we connect with other people: values and vision. (Are there others? Yes. Are they important or fun? Not usually.) And that's the way we connect with our customer prospects and business-partner prospects in network marketing.

When you and I vibrate on the same frequency as the people we're talking to with regard to our values or vision (or both), that makes for a good connection. Put just a couple of our shared values together, along with two compelling visions with lots and lots in common, and that's a great connection! The chances of getting that connection into a relationship, fast becoming a friendship, and from there creating the strong likelihood of partnership, is very, very good. Do that a couple of times every month and you won't be walking the beaches of the world - you'll be looking from the deck of your second (or third) home on Maui at all the people looking up at you wishing they were you.

Okay. How? How do you make the right connections?

First: understand that there's a sequence here: thoughts - > feelings - > connection. Thoughts create feelings, which create connections - because both thoughts and feelings are vibrations. Like tuning forks, we resonate with and attract those thoughts and feelings that are on the same fixed pitch we are sending out.

Can you build your network marketing business some other way?

Sure. But why, with your values and your vision - would you want to?
