I laid there in bed staring at my ceiling as my wife cried herself to sleep, almost in a state of shock at where my life had ended up. Everything was gone, and the one thing I seemed to be succeeding at was hurting everyone around me.

"How the hell did I end up here?" was the only thought crossing my mind.

Rewind seven months and I am speaking to over 2,000 of my peers at The Mortgage Planners Summit in Las Vegas. I was sharing the stage with Tony Robbins, who just happened to be one of my personal heroes in the world of speaking.

My presentation, The Mindset of an Investor, brought the house down with thunderous applause and cheers. As I worked my way off the back of the stage I can clearly remember thinking, "I have finally arrived."

My life experience at that moment felt like a drug. I was high 24/7 off of my own arrogant assumption that I was on my way to the top, wherever that is. But like any artificial high, it was about to come crashing down.

Now, the Banking/Credit Crisis was in full swing. We were some of the first hit by this massive tsunami that forever changed the face of banking and real estate in this country. Ultimately, my company proved unable to recover from the after-shock of these events.

By December 1st, 2007 my company was insolvent. By January 1st, 2008 I was personally insolvent and facing a possible personal bankruptcy.

I was angry. I was scared. I had no idea what to do.

Before my meteoric rise in the mortgage & real estate industry, I was a broke, divorced, cancer surviving PE teacher that had no clue what I wanted in life. And here I was back to square one!

But this time around there were 3 game-changing distinctions:

One: I already knew that it was possible to go from completely broke to insanely rich in a relatively short time period. This point of reference gave me the past evidence and future hope I needed to ultimately rebuild.

Second: Unlike my money-driven seven-year run in banking, this time around I had a distinct feeling that all I was experiencing was somehow in alignment with a greater purpose for my life.

Third: There's nothing like a major crisis in one's life to get you to stop and re-evaluate everything. I started questioning my values, my priorities and my beliefs. I began to re-think my entire world view and the very meaning of my existence.

I was committed to create something significantly different than what I had built and lost. There were no "Sacred Cows" that would go unexamined.

Since that night I have built four profitable companies, co-authored two books with NY Times Best Selling Author Garrett B. Gunderson, host a weekly Radio & TV show on Authentic Entrepreneurship, speak at workshops all over the country on Modern Networking and have solidified what I consider to be the greatest online training platform in the world...The Paid To Play Academy.

Even better, my marriage is on fire with a passion usually reserved for Hollywood movies.

I am driven from the inside out by a higher purpose that allows me to experience a high that is like nothing I have ever experienced before.

I did it all in less than 18 months...

When people ask me what I do these days, I tell them I get paid to play. It is a world that is difficult for many to understand, similar to the recent attempt I made at explaining what a million dollars was to my 3-year old daughter, who just recently learned the concept of quarters & dollar bills.

My intention in my upcoming webinar with Networking University and you, is to give you a framework of how I rebuilt my world, and what I discovered about myself, my networking business and my life along the way. Most importantly, I will provide you with a MAP of how you can do the same.

I will guide you through the 5 step-process that thousands of our Academy students and myself have taken to explode their networking business's, their relationships and their lives.

So what is the MAP? Let me give you a short overview.

Step 1 - Accepting What Is - bringing your life back to the present.

The only time we suffer is when we believe a thought that argues with what is.
When the mind is perfectly clear, 'what is' is what we want.
— Byron Katie

Step 2 - Awakening Who I Am Not - embracing the shadow.

It is only when we have the courage to face things exactly as they are, without any self-deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of events, by which the path to success may be recognized.
— I Ching

Step 3 - Activating Who I Am - liberating your light.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
— Marianne Williamson

Step 4 - Applying Soul Purpose - empowering your stand in business and life.

We cannot live only for ourselves, a thousand fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.
— Herman Melville

Step 5 - Accelerating the Business of YOU - getting paid to live your soul purpose.

Living your soul purpose in business is the most liberating, exhilarating experience many will ever have in their life.
— Garrett J. White
